This week’s show:
If you’re like a lot of freelancers and entrepreneurs, you probably don’t consider yourself a natural salesperson.
At best, you might see sales as a necessary evil.
At worst, as something sleazy, shameful and super uncomfortable.
But that’s a costly misconception. Just ask today’s guest, Donald Kelly.
His hit podcast, “The Sales Evangelist”, is a celebration of sales as a way to deliver value to your market.
And in this episode of Just Add Hustle he’s going to show you how to improve your selling power even if, right now, you think of sales as a four-letter word.
Ready to discover how to succeed at sales without being a pushy jerk so you can share more value with your market — and make more money at the same time?
You bet you are!
So go ahead and click the “Play” button below and let’s get ready to hustle!
In this episode, you’ll discover how to succeed at sales without being a pushy jerk:
- What it means to “lead with value” — and why doing so will melt away any negative feelings you might have about sales …
- How separating our identity and our roles frees us from the fear of rejection and makes us far more effective at sales — or anything else we want to be good at …
- How Donald hustled before work, on his lunch breaks, and in a car parked outside his church to grow “The Sales Evangelist” to one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes …
- Donald also shares a simple-to-follow formula that will take you from zero or very few clients to a pipeline filled with hot leads and happy customer …
- And lots more!

Hi Paul and Donald,
Love that point about separating roles and dissolving the fear of rejection. I went thru a stretch – OK most of my life LOL – where I completely identified with my results. Then, when I dove into running an online business I completely identified with 2 B’s: Business and Bank Account. Since I struggled mightily for a while, I deducted I was a loser, and totally crashed and burned. By separating my identify from my results – somewhat – I could feel love around me, and feel like I was being loved, despite the appearances of rejection, and the appearances of business and money struggles. All those struggles dissolved into ease when I ceased fighting and began feeling what was REALLY going on within me, and in so doing I saw no outcome or circumstances in my life had anything to do with my worth as a human being.
Super stuff guys.
Ryan

Hey Ryan, thanks for sharing this.
I’ve gone through the same struggle of separating roles and identities. It’s an easy trap to fall into. Especially online where what tends to get broadcast are only the big wins and amazing successes.
Truth is, there’s a whole lot of struggling, failing, and getting back up to try again involved in making any endeavor work. And when we take failure personally — when we see it as a repudiation not of what we’ve done, but who we are — that struggle becomes unbearably painful.
I appreciate Donald offering this advice and you for sharing your take on it!
